I'll be performing a short set to benefit READ Philippines.
"We are hosting the Second Annual "Write to Our Culture" show. Featuring
a showcase of the most creative and expressive writer-artists and
musical acts of various genres from the tri-state area and beyond.
They will raise funds for Read Philippines, a campaign dedicated to
installing Philippine-themed book collections in public libraries in
the New York area. READ Philippines is a program of CORE. The mission
of this program is to establish collections of Filipino and
Filipino-American books in libraries with sizable communities of
Filipino-Americans. Through the READ Philippines project, we hope to
aid in the development in young Filipino-Americans, their friends and
the community at large to promote a greater interest and awareness of
the Philippines and its values, history and culture.
Various writers and photographers from Filipino media will be present."
